There is more than surfing on Siargao

Siargao Island Philippines

Really I hear the surfers say? Many people come here to just surf but there are some other things you really must do while you are on the island, apart from surf, eat and sleep. Magpupungko Pools (above) is one such place, these tidal sea pools are 45 minutes north of General Luna and are stunningly beautiful, available for swimming in at low tide entrance is P50 and there is a fee for parking. There are several crystal clear pools to swim in some are quite deep so take care.

Island Hopping

Siargao Island Philippines

Close to General Luna and Cloud Nine are three small islands and it is very easy to organise a day trip to visit all three, the place where you are staying can organise it for you or you simply hire a boat from the pier in General Luna and off you go, price is P1600 per boat for 1 to 4 people, larger boats are available for bigger groups. You need to organise the day before as the boat just transports you between the islands so you need to pack your own food and drinks to take with you. Note that everything you take will get wet but it is a great trip with some gorgeous beaches and fun swimming. There is a great little market in General Luna for getting fresh supplies
